Adamawa couple arrested for battering 11 year old boy left in their care after the demise of his parents

 Adamawa State Police command on May 12 arrested a couple identified as Kamal Idris, 24, and Ambasiya Idris, 19, for brutalizing an 11-year-old Orphan identified as Fahad Abdulkarim, placed under their custody as guardians, after the death of his father.

 The spokesperson of the command issued a statement that the suspects who reside in Wuro Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area, frequently and willfully torture the little boy and as a result leavimg grievous bodily injury on him.

He said the command received a report of this wicked and inhumane act by the couple and immediately arrested the them and rescued the tortured Child. Nguroje said the victim has been rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

The police spokesperson added that the State Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed his displeasure at the inhumane treatment meted on the little boy by the guardians who are supposed to take good care of him as his uncle and aunty and vowed to prosecute them so as to serve as warning to others from doing likewise.

Naira falls N770 to a dollars The Naira on Monday, June 19, closed at N770 per dollar at the investors and exporters (I&E) window.   FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited said Monday's closing rate represents a 16.1 percent depreciation from the N663 recorded on the last trading day (Friday).   Though the Naira is yet to gain stability following changes implemented by the federal government in Nigeria’s foreign exchange (FX) market, data on FMDQ shows that investors traded about $78 million deals on the I&E window.
