Couple arrested for allegedly assaulting their 9-year-old househelp with pestle and knife


A Nigerian woman simply identified as Blessing and her husband have been arrested for allegedly assaulting their 9-year-old house-help identified as Idinma.

 
The wicked act of the couple got exposed when videos of Idinma with a swollen face and different bodily injuries surfaced online on Friday, May 12. 


According to reports,  the nursing mum who give birth to a set of twins in March, allegedly best up the minor mercilessly after one of the babies  she was cradling fell off her hands. 

Skit maker, Lord Zeus, who has been following the case, said that the little girl o🔘¢ was denied access to education as her benefactors stopped her from going to school. 

He also shared  a video of Idinma currently in a hospital receiving medical attention for the injuries she sustained from the assault allegedlly meted on her by her benefactors.

A video of the nursing mother and her husband being interrogated by community members has since gone viral.

Naira falls N770 to a dollars The Naira on Monday, June 19, closed at N770 per dollar at the investors and exporters (I&E) window.   FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited said Monday's closing rate represents a 16.1 percent depreciation from the N663 recorded on the last trading day (Friday).   Though the Naira is yet to gain stability following changes implemented by the federal government in Nigeria’s foreign exchange (FX) market, data on FMDQ shows that investors traded about $78 million deals on the I&E window.
