Nollywood Actor Murphy Afolabi is dead


Just few hours after it was announced that Saint Obi has passed away another Nollywood actor, Murphy Afolabi is dead.

The 49- year old Yoruba actor died in the early hours of today.  It was said that Afolabi have fallen down in the bathroom at his house in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The president of Yoruba Movie Directors Guild and film maker, Seun Olaiya, shared the sad news on a WhatsApp platform populated by film makers.

Olaiya wrote “I swear to God just before the news, I was still hailing him. This is really a rude shock to me”.

His death was also confirmed by a veteran film director and producer, Tunde Ola- Yusuf via his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

He said: Rest in peace. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss”.

It is has been reported that the actor celebrated his birthday just over a week ago on May 5.

Naira falls N770 to a dollars The Naira on Monday, June 19, closed at N770 per dollar at the investors and exporters (I&E) window.   FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited said Monday's closing rate represents a 16.1 percent depreciation from the N663 recorded on the last trading day (Friday).   Though the Naira is yet to gain stability following changes implemented by the federal government in Nigeria’s foreign exchange (FX) market, data on FMDQ shows that investors traded about $78 million deals on the I&E window.
