Those asking for DNA should pay for it, I don’t have such money – Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi

Omawumi Aloba, widow of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has addressed the reasons behind her delay in conducting a paternity test for her son, Liam Aloba.

The call for a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the late singer’s baby, Liam Light has since been an issue since the demise of Mohbad two months ago.

In a recent development, Nigerian actress Alice Iyabo Ogunro, known as Iyabo Ojo, expressed her frustration in a viral live video. She shared details of her conversations with Wumi regarding the paternity issue.

According to Iyabo, Wumi clarified that she does not oppose anyone conducting a DNA test but emphasised that it would not be her financial responsibility. In addition, Wumi stated that she is awaiting contact from her father-in-law's lawyer before proceeding with the DNA test.

She added that aside from seeing public demand on social media, no one has yet reached out to conduct or make plans for the paternity test.

“She said no one has informed her, no one has reached out, that she is only seeing it on social media. She said her father-in-law’s lawyer has not reached out to her lawyer. Those who want DNA test should pay for it, I am managing myself and I cannot afford it,” Iyabo Ojo revealed following their conversation.
