Late Alaafin of Oyo’s son, Abdulfatai is dead.  Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, aka D-Gov, one of the sons of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, died in the early hours of Friday, December 8, a day before his 47th birthday. He reportedly died of diabetes at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State. The Public Relations Officer of UCH, Mrs Funmilayo Adetuyibi, confirmed the death of the late Alaafin’s son, saying that he died at the hospital on Friday morning. Adetuyibi told NAN that AbdulFatai was brought to the hospital around 12.05 a.m. on Friday and died at exactly 3:50 a.m. She, however, declined when asked about the disease that the late Oyo prince was suffering from which eventually resulted in his death. “I can’t disclose his diagnosis or what killed him because it is against our professional ethics,” the UCH spokesperson said. Tinubu inherited dead economy–Soludo Professor Charles Soludo, Anambra State Governor, has stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu took over a “dead economy” bequeathed by its predecessors. Mohbad: Police finally release Naira Marley, Sam Larry from custody The Lagos State Police Command has released singer Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley and his close associate, Samson Erinfolami Balogun, known as Sam Larry, after meeting their bail conditions. The duo were released on Friday evening November 17. Recall that a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, on Monday, November 6, 2023, granted the two men bail in the sum of N20m with three responsible duties. Naira Marley and Sammy Larry were arrested and arraigned before the court over their alleged complicity in the death of Mohbad who was previously signed to Marlian records owned by the former. Mohbad died in controversial circumstances on September 12.   On November 6, the court granted them bail. The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, told the defendants to submit their passports and ordered that they are to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti.

Appeal Court Sacks Zamfara Governor Lawal, Asks INEC to Conduct Rerun Court of Appeal has sacked the Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal and declared the election that brought him in as inconclusive.   The Court of Appeal, which sat in Abuja, the capital territory has also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct a rerun in three local government areas.  The affected local government areas are Maradun, Birnin Magaji and Bukuyun. The court held that it was wrong for INEC to rely on information it obtained from its INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal, to collate the final result of the governorship election. Appeal Court affirms Sanwo-Olu's re-election as Lagos governor The Appeal court in Lagos has upheld the September 25th judgment of the state election tribunal which affirmed the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat as the Governor and Deputy Governor of Lagos state. In a unanimous judgment delivered today November 15, the three-man panel of judges comprising Justice Yargata Nimpa, Justice Samuel Bola and Justice Paul Bassey dismissed the petition filed by PDP's candidate in the March 18 guber election, Abdulazeez Adediran aka Jandor.  The judges held that his petition lacked merit. The news of his death was announced on his Instagram handle on Wednesday.   According to the post, he died last night (Tuesday) at 10:14 pm. The Instagram post reads: “We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS passed away yesterday Nov 14th Tuesday evening, at exactly 10:14 pm. We are still in shock as we speak!" Oladips reportedly collapsed in the presence of his friends, causing panic.
